The Big Bike Revival at workplaces in England

Dr Bike Sessions are popping up at workplaces across England

The Big Bike Revival at workplaces in England

Free Dr Bike sessions are now available at workplaces across England, helping you enable your employees to travel confidently by bike

This year, our routines have been disrupted. Many people stopped commuting to the office in March and are only just returning.

Over the summer we've seen cycling rates increase, in some cases over 200% more than usual, enjoying the government’s planned ‘Golden age of cycling’.

Across the nation, as the workforce tentatively returns to commuting to their place of work, Cycling UK is extending the Big Bike Revival programme to cover workplaces, so that employees can benefit from the increase in cycling.

What is it?

The Big Bike Revival is funded by the Department for Transport in England; and provides funding and support for pop up Dr Bike sessions, so that independent bike shops, bicycle recycling organisations and not-for-profit cycling groups can offer assistance to get more people back on their bikes.

A Pop-Up Dr Bike is where your staff can take their bikes to be checked for safety, and, where appropriate receive minor adjustments to improve the working of their bike. These are generally organised in easy to access community locations. Where more major works are required, staff will be signposted to the Government's voucher scheme.

To find your nearest pop up Dr Bike event, explore our map.

Where is it?

Across England, including London.

When does this take place?

Between October and January 2021

Who can take part?

Any business based in England can apply to take part in this initiative.

How do I take part?

There are a couple of different ways you can take part:

•    If you're an employer, looking to host a Dr Bike session, email the team and we'll match-make you with a delivery partner where possible.

•    If you-re a workplace that has a Dr Bike delivery partner already, we may be able to extend our funding to these partners, email our team to find out more

•    If you're a delivery partner looking to deliver sessions to workplaces, get in touch with the team and we’ll match make you, where possible, with  a local business who are looking for a session.
